The centre houses thousands of fascinating
sea creatures, as well as a busy and highly successful marine
sanctuary for orphaned, sickly and injured seal pups. The
introduction of our otter sanctuary has proved an overwhelming
success and the sea turtles' convalescence facility has become
a firm favourite

Take a boat trip around the beautiful surroundings
of Peasholm Park. There are plenty of vessels to choose from,
including 3 - 5 seater swan pedaloes, rowing boats or Canadian
style canoes, each boat is let for 30 minutes. Chinese dragon
boats will be available for Easter 2006.

The North Bay Railway, which opened in1931
is one of the few railways in the country not to be nationalised.
Situated in the Northstead Manor Gardens, this 20' gauge railway
is seven-eight's of a mile long with all the features of a
full sized railway including a tunnel, bridges, signals, stations
& gradient boards reproduced to scale. For more information,

Whitby Town Open Top Bus Tour

North Yorkshire Off Road Centre

The North Yorkshire Off Road Centre provide
exceptional driving tuition in fantastic surroundings. They
also offer a privately owned and family run off road centre
which boasts teachers with over 20 years experience. They
have geared courses so they are suitable for beginners and
novices as well as the more advanced. You may go along in
your own vehicle to enjoy your day of off-road driving.

A circular route with the option of two shorter
routes if preferred. The route is level and mainly on rough
grass. There are no stiles or gates along the route, but strong
footwear is recommended. One of the shorter routes takes you
through a newly created environmental project site, known
as Parish Wood. Since 1996 Filey Brigg Ornithological Group
has developed it into community woodland.

Heritage Walk around Filey

This walk takes about one hour to complete,
links eight information boards and can be started at any point.
No specialist footwear is required and most of the route is
on pavement with a few steps involved. It is ideal for a family
walk, catering for all age groups and is of interest with
the 'Heritage Boards' information points giving more of the
history of each of the particular areas.
